The first generation of the Mazda 6 is built on the Mazda GG platform and the second generation is built on the Mazda GH chassis platform. The third generation of the Mazda6 is built on the Mazda GJ/GL platform. The Mazda6 has won many awards including European Car of the Year in 2003 and Best Family Sedan by MotorWeek in 2009.
